Story Map

Grade: K

Students take on the role of a reader and writer. They listen and/or read a story to identify key elements including characters, setting, problem, and solution. To identify each element, students will draw and write to complete a story map of the story they read. The teacher will ask students questions about their story to determine student understanding and proficiency in this standard.

With prompting and support, identify characters, settings, and major events in a story.
